Last Week's Video: I Didn't Know Excel Could Do This!
[Tiny Tip] Unblock Downloaded Excel Files (xlsm/xlsx)
(Important for viewing TeachExcel's downloadable Excel files.)
If you download an Excel file from the internet, Windows may block some features for security, especially in macro-enabled .xlsm files.
How to Unblock the File
Close the Excel file.
In File Explorer, right-click the file and choose Properties.
At the bottom of the General tab, check Unblock.
Click Apply, then OK.
Reopen the file in Excel.
Important for Macro-Enabled Files
This is especially important for .xlsm files because Excel may otherwise block the macros from running.
Only unblock files that you downloaded from a source you trust, like TeachExcel.
Tip: If you don't see the Unblock option, Windows hasn't marked that file as blocked.
