Last Week's Video: Reset Entire Workbooks
Make large Excel workbooks easier to navigate by turning shapes, icons, or images into clickable navigation buttons.
Instead of forcing users to scroll through worksheet tabs, you can create a simple menu that jumps directly to important sheets or locations in the workbook.
Go to Insert > Illustrations and insert a shape, icon, or button-style object (rounded rectangles work well).
Add text to the shape, such as Dashboard, Sales Report, Data Entry, or Instructions.
Right-click the shape and choose Link.
In the Insert Hyperlink window, choose Place in This Document.
Select the worksheet you want the button to navigate to.
Choose the destination cell, such as A1.
Click OK.
Now, when you click that shape, Excel instantly takes you to that worksheet and cell.
Where to Use
Custom navigation buttons are especially useful for:
Dashboards
Data-entry workbooks
Financial models
Templates
Workbooks with a lot of worksheets
They can make a normal Excel workbook feel much more like an interactive application.
