Switch Between Open Excel Files Instantly
Working with multiple Excel files? Instead of clicking around the taskbar, you can fast-jump between open Excel workbooks with one quick shortcut.
Windows Shortcut
Ctrl + Tab |
Mac Shortcut
Command + ` |
Each time you press the shortcut, Excel moves to another open workbook window.
Notes
The workbooks must already be open in Excel.
This is for switching between open workbook windows, not opening closed files.
When This Helps
Use this when comparing reports, copying formulas between files, moving data between workbooks, or checking one file against another.
It is a tiny shortcut, but it saves a lot of time when you work with multiple Excel files all day.
