[Tiny Tip] Helper Worksheets
A helper worksheet is simply a separate sheet that holds the behind-the-scenes work your main worksheets depend on.
What Goes on It?
You can use a helper worksheet for things like:
PivotTables used to summarize data
Intermediate formulas and calculations
Lookup tables
Summary values and KPI calculations
Lists or tables used by charts and dashboards
Why Use One?
If your workbook has a dashboard, report, or other polished output, you often don't want all of those supporting calculations sitting right next to it.
Keeping them on a separate helper worksheet makes the main worksheet cleaner, easier to use, and easier to read.
Keep It Out of the Way
Once everything is working, you can hide the helper worksheet so users won't see it by default.
This allows the calculations to work in the background, while the workbook stays clean and uncluttered.
