[Tiny Tip] How to Unblock Downloaded Excel Files
Have you downloaded an Excel workbook but the macros won't run? Windows may have automatically blocked the file.
How to Unblock the File
Close the Excel workbook if it is already open.
Open File Explorer and locate the downloaded file.
Right-click the file and select Properties.
On the General tab, look near the bottom for the Security section.
Check the Unblock box.
Click Apply, then OK.
Reopen the workbook and select Enable Content if prompted.
Why This Happens
Windows may add a security flag to files downloaded from the internet. Excel treats these files as potentially unsafe, which can prevent VBA macros from running.

Only unblock files from sources you trust, such as from TeachExcel.
